HOW IT BEGAN
Robyn, as a Graphic Information Technology student (later changing majors to Digital Audiences) enrolled in Starbucks' College Achievement Program, was gifted the responsibility of creating in-store promotions for store #9494 after proving herself as a chalkboard artist. She gained her certification as a Coffee Master which allowed her to create and manage coffee tasting events. She quickly took on the role of social media manager to promote her weekly tastings; building print and digital ads for Instagram and Facebook platforms.
The opportunity Robyn had, promoting Starbucks store #9494, marks the moment she learnt of her true passion: Creative Direction. Her collaborations with customers and partners, building content for the stores platforms, gained hype around the events and the opening of the stores new location. Robyn observed in-store coffee sales increase, along with customer loyalty.
Impassioned with her work at Starbucks, Robyn offered a struggling business her services as a promoter and director. She managed a team of creatives and produced a short-film in hopes of raising funds. Along with this promotional material, Robyn created print-flyers and helped direct other out-bound campaigns such as a fundraiser event.
Robyn's first freelance gig was with LkldTV, a hyper-local news media start-up located in the center of Downtown Lakeland. She began as a videographer, filming and editing videos, some of which went locally viral. Later, she proposed to take over LkldTV's social media platforms. Within three months she grew their audience, organically, by 500%.
THE WORKING ARTIST
Robyn's longest contracted job was with another start-up, The Working Artist Studio. She rented a space in exchange for her services as a social media manager. She was featured in the news twice for her work associated with the WA and even inspired the "unmural" art project, #TapestriesLakeland in 2018. Promotional content for this project also went locally viral, reaching thousands of artists and enthusiasts in and around Polk County.
PLATFORM ART INC.
Robyn took on a large role at Platform Art Inc.; she single-handedly managed print and digital campaigns, created content, redesigned their website and even revamped their branding with a refreshed, altered logo. She observed increased impressions and click-through rate across platforms with an average open-rate of 19% on her e-mail campaigns.
Throughout all of her contracted projects in 2018, Robyn managed a special project of her own. She was initially driven to build content for her professional portfolio but later discovered a purpose much greater: collaboration and making an impact with medias and the portrayal of beauty.
Maniq.in (originally, @LkldLookBook) was a fashion-oriented ad agency that specialized in pop-up fashion shows and digital promotion. Robyn collaborated with tens of local businesses from Tampa to Orlando and hundreds of models. To this day, she receives encouraging messages from the men and women she's worked with, reminding her that the work she did to promote body positivity was inspirational.
LOTUS HEART MINDFULNESS
Robyn' began working with Lotus Heart Mindfulness early in 2019. Her first assignment was to simply build content for @lotusheartmindfulness social media platforms. By the summer, she took this brand into a new level of work as Robyn began to conceptualize the structure of her agency (Manic Theory llc). She still continues to run Lotus Heart's social media platforms over 5 accounts and also applies SEO marketing strategies to the brand.
